Artist Statement

Rain’s paintings emerge from within his own capsule,  like nobody ever saw him before.   It's all about you, him, and the painting that you receive with all the energy transferred to you, like you met up with the shaman and have your own special talisman merging the painting, the object, with you-the-subject.

Rain’s work is timeless, a portal to be experienced.  If you actually saw him you would naturally say he has an image,  but if you looked deeper you may find he has something like an anti-persona.  Frankly, output is a complete mystery unfolding.  Do whatever you want to do with his paintings, it's up to you to see through the layers and find meaning in the colors.  He is by the way a person of color. That's a double entendre.

Rain is a shaman. The shaman opens up a gateway between dimensions, between the conscious and subconscious. The codes are multiple and each have a specific purpose that both contains and obscures the meaning.

Rain expresses  a singularity of vision.   He lives by his own rules , not under the influence of any other rulers except those of his own place in the universe and his own map making.

Whatever falls into the work- string, hair, sweat - is there.  The paint layers hold and reveal his spirit.  Beings hide and start to appear both consciously and implicit and equalize opposite forces.
